Herbig - Haro flows in L 1641 N ⋆ , ⋆ ⋆

Aims. To study the Herbig-Haro (HH) flows in L1641N, an active star formation region in the southern part of the Orion GMC and one of the most densely populated regions of HH objects in the entire sky. By mapping the velocities of these HH objects, combined with mid-IR observations of the young stars, the major flows in the region and the corresponding outflow sources can be revealed. Methods. ...

HERBIG-HARO FLOWS: Probes of Early Stellar Evolution

n Abstract Outflow activity is associated with all stages of early stellar evolution, from deeply embedded protostellar objects to visible young stars. Herbig-Haro (HH) objects are the optical manifestations of this powerful mass loss. Analysis of HH flows, and in particular of the subset of highly collimated HH jets, provides indirect but important insights into the nature of the accretion and...

Herbig - Haro Objects around Cg 30

In this work we study Herbig-Haro objects located in the region around the head of the cometary globule CG 30. Two sets of optical images are presented. The first set was obtained with the 3.5 m New Technology Telescope in 1995 in three emission lines: Hα, [S II]λλ6731,6716Å and [O II]λ3729Å. The second set is an Hα image of the CG 30/31/38 complex obtained in 2006 with the 8 m Subaru telescope...

Wide Field Surveys of Herbig-Haro Objects

We report our new results from wide-field surveys of Herbig-Haro (HH) objects in the nearby star forming regions. The surveys covered approximately 56 deg in Perseus, Taurus, Orion, Monoceros, and other regions. Using refined techniques, we discovered in total 68 HH objects, of which 32 were in Perseus, 4 in Taurus, 13 in Orion, 18 in Monoceros, and 1 in S287 regions. The newly discovered HH ob...

Herbig-Haro flows and molecular outflows in the HH56/57 region

A study at optical, infrared and mmwavelengths has been carried out of the Sa 187 cloud in the southern constellation of Norma, which harbors the HH 56 and 57 flows. CCD images of HH 56 show that it has a fine bow shock morphology. Along the line defined by HH 56 and its energy source Re 13 we have found a faint HH object, HH 56N, to the north, and another bow shock, HH 56S, to the south, makin...
